The long weekend seemed to consist mostly of Bulmers Pear Cider, but in between drinking I had a fine time.
I think the decision to combine Drummer Live with the Guitar / SRT and Unplugged shows was a remarkably good one; it meant that you could have a good look at all sorts of gear and see performers you wouldn’t otherwise have seen.
In my opinion it was a mistake to prevent exhibitors from selling anything; after all, this is a public show, not a Trade Fair like Musikmesse or NAMM, and punters like to look at all the shiny stuff and come away with some.
Highlights for me were Gavin Harrison, Phil Hilborne, Pete Riley in a totally inappropriate muscle vest, catching up with loadsa mates, meeting some new friends and, clearly, Bulmers Pear Cider.
